This is an introductory course for all new users of CATIA. Gain understanding of the CATIA interface and how to use CATIA to create solid models of parts, assemblies and drawings. CATIA lets users to design shapes and reach high levels of surface sophistication with its 3D sketching, visualization features. With CATIA, product developers can take an integrated systems engineering approach.

What will you learn???
●Firstly, the workshop gives a student an insight of the Automobile Industry, 3D modeling Theory etc. ●The 3D modelling sessions will be really helpful for them to get started with the basics of catia v5 for which they have to pay a large sum and yet not be satisfied.

●Introduction of Latest technology like PGMFi, DTSi, MPF, CRDI etc.
●Also the workshop doesn’t end up then and there. They can contact the concerned faculties throughout their graduation or thereafter also if they need any guidance industrial Projects and Placements.

● Starting CATIA its GUI ●Customization of Workbench and entering a workbench ●Mouse Navigation ●General commands (new file, open, save, save as, close) & keyboard shortcuts & Mouse
Session 2: Sketcher Workbench ●Entering the sketches ●Sketching in 2d ●Workbench ●Sketch tools ●Profile ●Operation ●Constraint ●View ●Properties ●toolbars like Visualization, Select, User selection Filter
Session 3: Part design ●Tools like standard, view, workbench, select ●Data Visualization ●Spatial Analysis ●Surface toolbar- Extrude, Revolve, Sphere, Cylinder, Offset, Sweep, Fill, Multi-section, Blend ●Sketch-based features – Pads, Pockets, Shaft, Groove, Hole, Rib, Slot, Solid Combine, Stiffener, Multi-Sections Solid, Remove Multi-Sections Solidelect ●Dress-up features- Fillets, Chamfer, Drafts, Shell, Thickness, Thread/Tap, Remove Face ●Transformation features – Translation, Rotation, Symmetry, Mirror, Patterns, Scaling
Session 4: ENGINE DISSASSEMBLY ●In this session, the following will be explained with a actual bike engine, Working procedure of an Engine, Cover assembly, Piston assembly, Crank assembly, Automation and Scheduling, Best Practices and Troubleshooting ●Zonal Competition – After the practical experience from the workshop, Zonal Round Competition will be conducted for the participants.
